Educational goals

activities.
• Images, sounds, colors: Re-elaborate the lived experience through creative expression.
• Speech and words: Enrich vocabulary with specific terms (olive tree, olive, pressing, etc.).
• Knowledge of the world: Learn about the life cycle of the olive tree, discover the
transformation process from olives to oil, and approach the agricultural environment and the
importance of healthy eating.

Step-by-step description

1. Arrival and Approach
Welcome and a brief explanation of the plant and its
importance. Observation of the trunk, leaves, and
fruit.

2. The Harvest
After laying out the nets, the children harvested the
olives by hand and placed them in containers.

3. The Pressing
The children pressed the olives and used the juice
for coloring activities

4. Tasting
A snack consisting of bread and "novello" (newly
pressed) olive oil..

5.Game: Basket Toss
After picking up olives that had fallen to the ground, thechildren played a game of "making a basket" by
throwing them into containers.
